The Mission of Agewise Housing Solutions is to guide and empower individuals to holistically consider their current housing and future housing needs, and to support them with information and insight in order to advance design solutions and housing choices that support them to successfully age in place at home and in community.

Agewise Housing Solutions provides a range of Services to help clients thoughtfully evaluate their home in relation to their needs, as well as to prioritize and implement solutions to enhance their ability to remain independent.  Changes big and small can result in a home that is easier to live in and maintain, even as one ages. With planning and preparation, baby boomers and other older adults can more successfully and comfortably age in place.

Karen Margolis, Aging + Housing Solutions Consultant, worked for over 20 years as a City Planner and Housing Specialist in MetroWest Boston, providing her with a keen understanding of local communities, housing opportunities, and the social and physical contexts of how communities shape our lives.  She was the Real Estate Development Manager for the development of a mixed income senior housing community in Framingham.  This experience shaped a passion in housing for older adults.

Karen’s role as a caregiver has instilled in her compassion for older people faced with the complex and challenging struggles to maintain independence in the face of unexpected events.  Planning ahead can ease many of those challenges and can make a home a comfortable place to age gracefully.  Solutions which address identified needs can be accomplished with attractive design and style, and can increase the value of a home.

Karen brings insight about aging and older adults and their intersection with the physical environment, both on the home and community level.  She holds a Master Degree in City Planning (MCP) from MIT, and an MS Degree in Gerontology from UMass Boston.  In addition to being a City Planner and Gerontologist, she is a Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist (CAPS) through the National Association of Home Builders.

Fees commensurate with the scope and complexity of the services to be provided.
